JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa's benchmark Top-40 index hit a record high on Thursday, edging up 0.8 percent to 36,033.00, led by companies such as industrial conglomerate Bidvest Group and diversified miner African Rainbow Minerals.The All-Share index also scaled a lifetime high at 40,478.69, up 0.7 percent.
