Malawi: VP Saulos Chilima arrested over bribe links to UK businessman Zuneth Sattar

A newly-created anti-corruption court is expected to try Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima after UK police reported bribes received from British businessman Zuneth Sattar.

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Malawi’s anti graft body, on Friday arrested and charged Chilima on six counts of corruption for allegedly receiving $280,000 as a bribe from Sattar to secure lucrative government contracts.
