Many of Kabaka’s close associates are people who played a crucial role in the restoration of kingdom in 1993 and have assisted the institution in strategising to recover its properties from the central government. Others are drawn from families who have associated with the royal family for as many as seven decades. One attribute that cuts across Kabaka’s inner circle: most of his close associates are highly-educated lawyers.
With Kabaka’s health deteriorating in 2020, his inner circle has become a critical player in day to day running of the kingdom.
