Morocco: Trouble in paradise? A scrutiny of the agricultural industry

With the boom in foreign sales of tomatoes, citrus, and red fruits serving as a Moroccan success story, the kingdom’s agricultural sector must be re-evaluated heading into the future.

It’s a rather hefty coffer for Morocco, topping out at about MAD80bn ($7.7bn), a new record amount of agricultural and maritime exports from the kingdom in 2022. This is up by almost 20% compared to 2021, a true achievement in the face of difficult international and climatic circumstances as of 9 January.
