After a record $6.5bn raised in 2022, what next for African tech?

Despite a difficult global economic environment last year, which saw funding opportunities for technology start-ups and fintechs limited in most major markets, Africa’s tech ecosystem grew in 2022.

According to data compiled by Partech, a global investment platform, funding in Africa was up 8% last year and totalled $6.5bn – beating the previous record set in 2021.
