The prolonged tensions between Cairo and Addis Ababa over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam did not prevent Egyptair, Africa’s number two airline, from collaborating with the continent’s leading national carrier, Ethiopian Airlines.

Unlike its Ethiopian counterpart, the Egyptian flag carrier, which flew 9 million passengers in 2022, has not managed to establish itself as an international hub.
