The acquisition last December of the French logistics company’s network of ports and railways by MSC for 5.7bn euros is, all sectors taken together, the deal of the year for 2022.

What seems eternal will end. The spectacular takeover of the African activities of the Bolloré Transports& Logistics group (BTL) by the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is a perfect illustration. For who could have imagined just a few years ago that the Bolloré group would part with what has long been its main source of wealth, the African port terminals, and in such short order?
