Cameroon’s obstacle course to join the ‘cocoa OPEC’

Cameroon and Nigeria have announced their membership in the alliance formed by Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana as a counterweight to chocolate industry giants and traders.

In May, Cameroon and Nigeria are expected to join the “cocoa OPEC”, the alliance formed in March 2018 by Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, the world’s first and second largest suppliers of beans (65% of global production).
