The use of drones in Africa has gained momentum in recent years, with China leading the pack in terms of production and adoption. Among the reasons for the rise of Chinese drones in Africa are their affordability, reliability, and ease of use, making them a preferred choice for various applications.

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), China has sold 282 military drones to 17 nations in the previous decade, making it the world’s largest exporter of armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

In comparison, the US, which possesses the most advanced UAVs in the world, has only exported 12 combat drones overseas in the same period, with all of them going to France and the United Kingdom.
