Kenya’s interior ministry is proposing changes to security laws that could make it difficult to organise protests, in light of the recent demonstrations called by opposition leader Raila Odinga that have spiralled into violence.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki is proposing to change the Public Order Act through Parliament through a list of 10 conditions that will have to be met before a protest is approved.
