Standard Bank shareholders exposed to risks of new fossil-fuel investments, says Just Share

Shareholders in Standard Bank are open to financial risks resulting from the bank’s policies on investment in fossil fuels, a report says.

The research from South African shareholder activist group Just Share focuses on Standard Bank’s 2022 climate report, released on 31 March. The bank’s on- and off-balance sheet exposure to fossil fuels increased by 22% in 2022 from 2021, Just Share says.
