South Africa to unveil Just Energy Transition framework in weeks, says official

South Africa is finalising the implementation framework for the Just Energy Transition (JET) Investment Plan and will reveal the finished product in the coming weeks, Rudi Dicks, head of the Project Management Office in the country’s presidency, tells The Africa Report.

At COP27 in Egypt last November, President Cyril Ramaphosa presented the JET investment plan to the International Partners Group (IPG), comprising France, Germany, the EU, the UK, and the US, which have collectively pledged $8.5bn towards transitioning South Africa’s carbon-intensive economy.
