Despite many allegations of corruption hanging over his head, including alleged drug trafficking that has formed the basis for a lawsuit seeking the annulment of his Presidential victory, Bola Tinubu will take charge of Nigeria’s anti-graft crusade once he is inaugurated on 29 May. What does this mean for a country already regarded as one of the most corrupt in the world?
Elected mainly for his credentials as an anti-corruption crusader, President Muhammadu Buhari started his war against graft with a bang back in 2015, arresting the National Security Advisor, Sambo Dasuki; military chiefs, ex-ministers and many other politically exposed persons in a manner unprecedented in Nigeria’s democratic history.
