Egypt’s growing concern about UAE’s support for Hemeti camp

Before engaging with the Sudanese army at home, Hemeti cut his teeth against the Houthis in Yemen on Abu Dhabi’s behalf. This is a historical relationship that has increased worries amongst the region, Egypt in particular.

Three days after the outbreak of fighting in Sudan on 15 April, information began to circulate on social networks in the region: one of the three administrators of the official Facebook account of the leader of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemeti), is active in the Emirates.
