Barrick Gold Corporation – and its South African chief Mark Bristow – are closely following legislative developments, and their potential impact on the industry.

The involvement of the CEO of Barrick Gold Corporation in the reform of the mining code adopted in August by authorities in Mali, where the company operates the Loulo-Gounkoto gold mine (547,000 ounces in 2022), might not have been enough for the West African nation to lure more investments.
